Hackintosh.

Since Apple decided in June 2005 to team up with Intel Computers to be the base of their computers, the OSX86 scene has gone wild trying to “Hack” OS X onto their computers, when I heard about this I immediately jumped at trying to get it installed on my own PC without much success as I had so many Kernel Panic, no Graphics Kexts for my graphics card and no Networking support - it was frankly useless.

Recently though, OS X Leopard has changed all this and has made it relatively easy thanks to people such as “Kalyway” who has hacked the 10.5.1 image of OS X and has enabled users without much trouble to install OS X on their PCs. I have eventually managed to get it onto my PC with all parts working. Along with the 10.5.1 image, I have been able to update to 10.5.2 and have it fully working.

As you can see, it’s fully working, I am really enjoying the “Mac Experience” without the expense of a real Mac! Also I’ve noticed a distinct increase in Stability over Windows, not saying I’ve not managed to crash it, but it is more stable.

If anyone else wants to start trying out a Hackintosh, head over to the OsX86 project Wiki, which will let you know what hardware works with what and theres lots of tips and advice there.

Hello.

power.jpg

Welcome to my new blog, from here I hope to be able to talk about my Life, what I’m interested in and I’m sure it will deviate to other topics in the Technology world that I have not yet explored. From this blog I hope to be able to meet new people who like myself are interested in Technology and to be able to express my views across the Internet in a way that I want to.

I’d like to say thankyou to Stephen Chinnadorai and Michael Mistretta who both have excellent blogs who have both inspired me to start this blog of my own.
